Falcon Family News: September 11, 2026

The second week has come and gone, and we are really enjoying this year’s group of Falcons! The respect I see on a daily basis is encouraging. Students are holding doors, saying hello to others, and spending time interacting during lunch. So far, 80% of our students have chosen to go outside and enjoy the outdoors after they have eaten their lunch. Having devices off and away all day seems to be helping them get active and social.

This next week, our sporting events get going in full swing. Please look at the calendar below for dates, bus departure times, and timing of events. We’d love to see you out there on the field cheering on our fastpitch and track teams.

This next week, we also have our school pictures. On Wednesday, September 16th, each student will be called to the library to take their school photo. These pictures will go into the yearbook, and you will have an opportunity to order them. See the details below.

This week also marks the launch of our ASB Fundraiser. Last year, we earned over $12000 to help fund our ASB. These funds are used for school dances, to support clubs, to help with field trip costs, or to allow cool projects to happen all over the school. I’ll send out a message on Wednesday with more details.

Thanks, as always, for your support of Fairview! Have a great weekend everyone. Enjoy your time with family and friends.

Mr. Tebo

Athletic Study Hall

Every Thursday, students will take part in athletic study hall prior to practice. Students meet in their assigned classrooms immediately following the end of school bell. The purpose and goal of athletic study hall is for students to focus on their academics. With student athletes often leaving school early and practicing/ competing late each night they have the potential to fall behind. This academic study hall time each week is intended to help students catch up and get ahead.

Last week, I went over the following expectations with your student athletes. Please review these with them and discuss at home to help reinforce. If you would like to review the in depth overview of athletic study hall find it in this document.

Key Expectations & Reminders

  • Attendance & Eligibility: Full school day attendance and prompt arrival are required to remain eligible for practice; arriving more than 15 minutes late results in parent pick-up.
  • Our supervisors are still learning the 150 athletes names. There have been times where they have called out a name and did not hear a response so a student may have accidentally been marked absent. If you get an alert that you are unsure about please contact the office and we can confirm they are here. We apologize for any mistakes we are working through.
  • Snack Policy: Send non-microwavable snacks or funds for the student store (cash or SOAR cards); commercial food delivery services are prohibited.
  • Preparedness & Rules: Standard "off and away all day" cell phone policies apply, and students should bring a book to read or mentor peers once study work is finished.
  • Incentives: Students with zero missing assignments earn an optional outside break during study hall, and sports teams are competing for the highest combined GPA trophy.

Baby Eyas- Guess the Baby Pics

One thing we’re starting here at FMS is Baby Eyas (Name for baby falcon). Each week, we’ll show baby pictures from a few students and have students guess who they are. If you’d like your child’s baby picture to be included, please send your pictures to Heather Bowser, at heatherb@ckschools.org Please be sure to put your child’s name with the email as well. We’re hoping a few teachers will share their baby pics as well, so we can have fun guessing who is who.

Falcon Pet Wall- We Need Your Help

We are excited to welcome our students back for another amazing school year at Fairview Middle School! To help make our school feel even more fun, connected, and welcoming, we would love to feature photos of our students with their beloved pets from home.
Whether it’s a dog, cat, hamster, chicken, lizard, or any special furry (or scaly!) friend, we can’t wait to celebrate the pets that make your family unique.
To send in the pic, name of your pet, and your child’s information, Follow the QR Code.
