Falcon Family News: September 4, 2026

What a great start to the new school year. We enjoyed getting to know our new students and starting to build a strong learning community here at Fairview. Students and staff used these slow start days to learn about expectations here at school and spending time getting to know each other. On Friday, all of our students worked on building a collective mural in the school (a pair of falcon wings), which will be displayed in the next couple weeks. Their work will be a beautiful reminder of our theme: “SOAR to New Heights!”

One of our district goals is to ensure safe and welcoming learning environments. I’ve asked our staff to start the year by clearly communicating the high standards, high expectations, and high accountability we have for all students. You can support this work by talking with your child about your own expectations for their behavior at school and the importance of treating others with respect.

Together, we can build on the progress we’ve made and ensure our school is a place where every student feels safe and supported. Thank you for being a valued partner in our school community!

Activity Bus Daily- Free of Charge

Daily, we have an Activity Bus leaving Fairview at 4:30pm. This bus is meant for students participating in study hall, sports, or clubs. Please take advantage of this activity bus. Our goal is to fill the bus and provide a ride home for the students that need it.

Tardy Policy @ FMS

We expect students to be on time to each class. It is an important skill that is essential to their future success. Starting on Tuesday this week, we will start counting tardies. At FMS, we have a tardy policy that is communicated with students. If they accumulate tardies, they will also accumulate some consequences. See the Tardy Policy here. Each quarter, the tardies reset, so students can have another chance to improve their attendance.

Falcon Pet Wall- We Need Your Help

We are excited to welcome our students back for another amazing school year at Fairview Middle School! To help make our school feel even more fun, connected, and welcoming, we would love to feature photos of our students with their beloved pets from home.
Whether it’s a dog, cat, hamster, chicken, lizard, or any special furry (or scaly!) friend, we can’t wait to celebrate the pets that make your family unique.

Baby Eyas- Guess the Baby Pics

One thing we’re starting here at FMS is Baby Eyas (Name for baby falcon). Each week, we’ll show baby pictures from a few students and have students guess who they are. If you’d like your child’s baby picture to be included, please send your pictures to Heather Bowser, at heatherb@ckschools.org Please be sure to put your child’s name with the email as well. We’re hoping a few teachers will share their baby pics as well, so we can have fun guessing who is who.
