Falcon Family News: August 17, 2026

Welcome Back Falcon Families,

I’m very excited to begin my second year here at Fairview. I hope you have enjoyed your summer time with your family and friends. Our Tebo Family Summer was full of adventures and quality time together.

As we return to our Falcon Family here at Fairview, I wanted to send out a first message with some details about upcoming events. I also wanted to send out a message to reiterate our dedication to helping students live a more balanced lifestyle with technology. To achieve this, we have made a modification to our Cellphone and Chromebook Policies. Starting for the 2026-27 School Year, students will be expected to have their cellphones turned off and put away in their backpacks, for the entire school day. In addition, Chromebooks will be kept in backpacks until teachers ask for them to be used. Please see details of these changes in the section below as well as the reasoning behind these changes. We appreciate your support in helping our students build healthy technology habits.

The office is now open M-F, from 7:15am-2:45pm. If you have questions, or need to drop off an item, call or drop by school, and we’d be happy to help you.

Please check out all the sections below for valuable information on the first days of school, Sports Physicals here at FMS, Falcon Fever, 6th Grade Orientation Web Day, and much more. Thanks for your support…we can’t wait to get this year started.

Have a great week,
Mr. Tebo

The First Week of School

This year starts differently for many reasons. First, students will arrive before September, with the first official school day being on Monday, Aug 31st.

For the first three days, Aug 31-Sept 2, students will attend school from 7:25am-10:30pm. We will have assemblies, team building activities, and talk expectations with students.

Sept 3rd is a regular Early Release Thursday (7:25am-12:30pm) and Friday, Sept 4th is a full day of school (7:25am-2:05pm).

A Change to our Technology Policy- “Off and Away, All Day”

We want students to learn how to have a healthy balance with technology (cellphones and Chromebooks) in their lives. Both of these technology devices tend to get in the way of authentic and real life social interactions. To help promote a healthier use of both cellphones and Chromebooks, we are making some changes called “Off and Away All Day”.

To gather more details about the why behind this change and other important information, please read this document

On Aug 27th, Falcon Fever will be the first big school event. From 4-6:30pm, hot dogs will be served, schedules will be available, there will be time to meet teachers. Since this will also be our Open House, you can explore the school. All are welcome! Please come join in the fun.

Falcon Web Day, 6th Grade Orientation, Aug 28th, 8-11:30am

On Aug 28th, we’ll be inviting all of our new 6th Graders to Fairview for our Orientation called
Falcon Web Day. This event, which runs 8-11:30am, will give our new 6th graders a chance to learn Fairview, have some fun playing games, and get guidance from our 7th/8th Grade Web Student Leaders. Parents can drop off their students and pick them up at the front.

There will also be buses for those parents needing transportation for their students.

Bus 1 will pick up students at Cottonwood at 7:35am and Woodlands at 7:45am, with an arrival of 7:50am at Fairview.

Bus 2 will pick up students at Esquire Hills at 7:25am, Cottage Bay Apts at 7:30am, and PineCrest at 7:40am, with a 7:50am arrival at Fairview.

Both buses will depart Fairview at 11:30am and drop off students in the same order back at the elementary schools.
