Topics: SBA Testing Starts, Off and Away All Day for 26-27, Red Robin Fundraiser, Night Football Game Tonight

Good morning Fairview Families. Just a reminder to each of you that tonight is our Night Football Game, starting at 6pm at Olympic High School. Our Falcons will be battling their cross town rivals, Central Kitsap Middle School. We’ll have a delicious snack bar (Cash Only) sponsored by our PTA, cheerleaders, announcers, and the whole 9 yards! Come out for this free event and cheer on our students.

SBA State Testing begins on Monday, May 11th. There will be testing days on May 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, and 20. During these dates, students will be testing during the first 2 hours of the day. Please help them prepare to do their best by encouraging them to get lots of sleep, eat a good breakfast, and be on time. Late arrivals won’t be able to test, so please have students here on time.

Our cheerleaders are raising some cash this week at Red Robin. On Tues, May 12th, go to Red Robin and order food, mention you are from Fairview, and they will donate 20% towards our cheerleading program. Thanks for supporting our cheerleaders who support all of our teams!

Next year, Fairview Middle School will be aligning with the other two middle schools in our District, Ridgetop and Central Kitsap. Students will have their cellphones “Off and Away All Day” beginning next year (2026-27). This means that their phones will be turned off and put in their backpacks for the duration of the day. This also includes during lunch, passing, and all other times. We are working hard to eliminate distractions to learning and to boost socializing at lunch. To create social fun, we’ll be purchasing games, activities, and other items to be used during lunch. At Ridgetop and Central Kitsap, who instituted this policy this year, they have seen amazing social growth and a big drop in tech-based distractions. As we approach the end of the year, we’ll keep putting out this message to families, so everyone understands the “Off and Away All Day” policy. Thanks for your support to help develop a healthy environment for students here at Fairview.

Happy Mother’s Day to all moms out there! Let’s hope for sun, fun, and relaxation this weekend!

Baby Eyas- Guess the Baby Pics

One thing we’re starting here at FMS is Baby Eyas (Name for baby falcon). Each week, we’ll show baby pictures from a few students and have students guess who they are. If you’d like your child’s baby picture to be included, please send your pictures to Heather Bowser, at heatherb@ckschools.org Please be sure to put your child’s name with the email as well. We’re hoping a few teachers will share their baby pics as well, so we can have fun guessing who is who.
