Topics: Certificated Appreciation Week, Dyes Inlet Jazz Festival-Tues, Night Football Game- Fri, WCAS Testing- Tues

What a beautiful start to this weekend. Last week, we had such a busy week with 5th graders visiting, a Swing into Spring concert, and another practice round of state interim tests.

This week, we’ll be honoring and thanking our certificated staff. Certificated staff include our teachers and counselors. We have a fun Star Wars Theme for the week entitled, “A Galaxy of Gratitude for our FMS Certs!” Please reach out and give thanks if you can for our hard-working, dedicated teachers and counselors.

On Tuesday, this week, we have a fun event with food carts and amazing music at the Dyes Inlet Jazz Festival, 6-8pm at CKMS. We also have been able to create a Night Football Game for our Football Team. On Friday, 5/8 at 6pm, we’ll be playing CKMS at Olympic High School. Come on out to watch our Falcons battle the Cubs. 

Finally, we start our state testing this week with the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS). This is an 8th grade state test that we’ll be administering on Tuesday, 5/5. Thanks for encouraging your child to get enough sleep and try their best.

Love our choir? Love the Sounders? A perfect match will happen on May 9th at Lumen Field. Our Fairview Choir will be singing the National Anthem before the 7:30pm game vs San Diego. Tickets are only $25 until Apr 4th. Prices go up to $35 past the 4th. Check out this flyer for more details.

As we approach the end of the year, we wanted to put some dates out for you to make plans. See these important dates below:

One thing we’re starting here at FMS is Baby Eyas (Name for baby falcon). Each week, we’ll show baby pictures from a few students and have students guess who they are. If you’d like your child’s baby picture to be included, please send your pictures to Heather Bowser, at heatherb@ckschools.org Please be sure to put your child’s name with the email as well. We’re hoping a few teachers will share their baby pics as well, so we can have fun guessing who is who.
