Topics: ASB Election Packets Available, 8th Grade Registration Events, SBA Interims this Week, Sports Jamborees

We are finally at Spring Break. It is hard to believe we’re already there! I wish you and your family all the best over the next week. Hopefully you are able to get out and spend time with family and friends.

When we return, during the week of April 13th, there are a few items happening. Our ASB Election for next year is starting with Candidate Packets available all during that week. Students interested in running for ASB Office will visit Mrs. Patnode’s Classroom to get their packet and start their application process.

The week of April 13th is a huge one for our 8th Graders. On Apr 13th, the 8th Graders will preview OHS Registration in Advocacy Class. On April 14th, all 8th Graders will travel to OHS for the Oly Experience from 9-12:30. If your child hasn't returned the permission slip, it is due ASAP and located here. On April 15th, all incoming freshmen and their families are invited to OHS in the evening for Oly Freshman Informational Night. On Wed, April 22nd, all FMS Students have their final OHS Registration due. Check out this link to see all of these events on a flyer and to get more information about the registration process.

To practice for the State Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA), we will start doing Interim Practice Tests this week on Wednesday. These Interims allow our students to practice the test format, so they get familiar with the expectations. These tests will be from 7:30-8:30am. Please encourage your child to be on time, so they get the best practice possible.

On Thursday, April 16th, all of our teams will be participating in Sports Jamborees. See the schedule below to get more information on times and locations.

Enjoy your break, and we’ll see your students again on April 13th.

Baby Eyas- Guess the Baby Pics

One thing we’re starting here at FMS is Baby Eyas (Name for baby falcon). Each week, we’ll show baby pictures from a few students and have students guess who they are. If you’d like your child’s baby picture to be included, please send your pictures to Heather Bowser, at heatherb@ckschools.org Please be sure to put your child’s name with the email as well. We’re hoping a few teachers will share their baby pics as well, so we can have fun guessing who is who.
