This upcoming week is the last week before the end of the semester. We are so proud of our students working hard this week to finish strong and set themselves up for a successful second semester here at Fairview.

To help our students be more successful, our staff is doubling our efforts to help students become better organized. Our students need better skills in being able to track and complete their assignments. Many of our students also need additional help to complete assignments and learn the content of their classes. To target these skills, we are going to be using the school-supplied planners daily here at FMS, in each class. In addition, we’ll have students complete grade checks, and we’re establishing an After School Study Hall for students that need additional help. 

The Study Hall will be starting on February 10th, and will occur each Tues/Wed after school until the end of May. At Study Hall, teachers and Honor Society students will tutor those that need help understanding and completing their assignments. Study Hall will be available by invitation only. These invitations will be given priority to students that are struggling and need this help. These invitations should begin to come out mid to late next week. 

We are also starting the Activity Bus back up here at Fairview. This transportation home after sports is intended to give those attending study hall, clubs, and athletics a ride home from Fairview. This bus will depart Fairview at 4:25 daily and have 6 stops. Check out this flyer here to get more information. The activity bus will run through the end of May.

As you can see, we are trying hard to reach all Falcons and help them be successful. Thanks for your efforts sending your students to school daily. If they aren’t here, we can’t help, and they miss out.

Please support our school and PTA by going out to eat at Red Robin on Wed, Jan 28th. Red Robin is donating 20% of sales that day to Fairview PTA. Simply say that you are a Fairview Family, and the donation is made. Check out this flyer for additional information. Also, if you haven’t, please join PTA. The stronger our PTA, the more fun student and family activities we can have.

The Activity Bus is starting back up for the entirety of the 2nd Semester, through May. The bus has 6 stops, and it will be transporting our students that have sports, clubs, and/or study hall. Please check out this flyer that we’re using to advertise this bus. The bus will leave FMS at 4:25 daily, starting Feb 2nd.

Study Hall will be starting up on February 10th. Study Hall will be every Tues/Wed in the library after school, from 2:15-4pm. At each session, Study Hall Coordinators and Honor Society Students will provide tutoring to students who need assistance. Study Hall will be by invitation only. Invitations for study hall will be sent out next week.

We aim to keep Fairview clean and beautiful. Recently, we’ve had to give out numerous reminders to adult visitors on campus that smoking and/or vaping is not allowed on school property. This includes smoking/vaping in your car while waiting to pick up your student. Thanks for following this guideline, as we attempt to keep it a smoke free campus.

One thing we’re starting here at FMS is Baby Eyas (Name for baby falcon). Each week, we’ll show baby pictures from a few students and have students guess who they are. If you’d like your child’s baby picture to be included, please send your pictures to Heather Bowser, at heatherb@ckschools.org Please be sure to put your child’s name with the email as well. We’re hoping a few teachers will share their baby pics as well, so we can have fun guessing who is who.
