SBA Testing Falcon Families Letter
April 2025
Dear Fairview Families,
We are entering an important time of year—State Testing Season! Starting Monday, May 5 through May 30, your student will participate in the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) and the WCAS (Science test for 8th grade). These assessments give us valuable information about your child’s academic progress and help guide instruction and support across our school.
๐ง Why SBA Testing Matters
- Shows Student Growth: Measures progress in English Language Arts (ELA), Math, and Science (8th grade).
- Informs Teaching: Helps teachers understand what students know and where they need support.
- Supports School Planning: Data from SBA helps schools better allocate resources and improve programs.
