Hello Falcon Families - 

Thank you for your positive response to our pick-up event! We handed out over 400 bags of supplies and materials and continue to work on getting supplies to the remaining students.  


Our first week of remote learning is in the books! We know that the transition to digital learning has presented a variety of unique challenges to our families as well as our staff, and we want to validate everyone’s experience and the many emotions that are being confronted daily. Continue to work on your at-home schedule and organize your learning in ways that work best for your family. Continue to engage with your classes and your teachers.  We are here and committed to supporting each other through this school year, so please do not hesitate to contact us if you need anything. Our Falcon Family is truly stronger together!

Attendance:

With classes taking place in a virtual format, attendance will look different this year.   Each day attendance will be taken for only those classes that have scheduled Google Meets.  

 

Students will be marked present in the classes scheduled for Google Meets each day if they have demonstrated participation since the last time the class Google Meet was scheduled. “Demonstrated participation” includes connecting with their teachers, interacting with their classes or collaborating with their peers.   

This could look like:

  • attend the Google Meet
  • e-mail or correspond with teachers
  • submit work or interact in some way with the teachers
  • complete assignments for the class

Please note that we are providing Curbside services! If you prefer to not enter our building, please call our main office (360-662-2600) and we will set up a time that we can meet you just outside our front entrance while you sit in your car.


COVID protocols:

Although our office is open and ready to serve your family’s needs during remote learning, we do have some additional precautions that we ask all visitors to follow:

  • Wear a mask
  • Sign an attestation re: COVID symptoms
  • Use hand sanitizer
  • Maintain social distancing

Google Classroom and PowerSchool

If you would like to check on your student’s progress, as in years past, you can look in PowerSchool for grades and to see if work is missing or was turned in late.  You can also check progress in Google Classroom - have your student sign-in to Google Classroom, then, at the top left of the screen, you should see these options:


Under To-Do you will find these options and can check where your student is at for any class work that has been assigned:

The Calendar will show all assignments on their due date, so you can plan accordingly.


Peachjar Flyers

If you are new to Fairview this year, please go to the Peachjar site (link below) to sign up to receive Fairview and CKSD flyers.  If you already have signed up for an elementary school, you’ll still need to add Fairview.

Chromebook Requests & Repairs

If you are a returning CKSD family and your student does not already have a district-issued Chromebook, or if your child does not have a personal device that will support remote learning, please complete this form to share your technology needs, request a device and schedule a pick-up. Does your child's district-issued Chromebook or power adapter need repair?  If so, please complete the repair request form, and we'll contact you to schedule a repair date.

Meals During Remote Learning

All children in our community can receive a FREE sack breakfast and hot lunch every school day! These free meals are available September 2 - December 31, 2020.

How to Sign Up for Meals

For planning purposes, please complete our CK Meals Access Survey.

This will help us ensure we have enough meals at each site. It will also help us distribute these meals more quickly.

If your child needs meals, but you are not able to visit one of our pickup sites during our service times, we want to help! Please complete the CK Meals Access Survey and let us know.
